SUPPORTING OUR CONGREGATION

“Tzedakah (literally “righteousness” and sometimes translated as “charity”) is equal to all the other commandments combined”  according “ to the Babylonian Talmud (Tractate Bava Batra, page 9a).  Our Jewish community fully depends on the generosity of our members and donors.  We truly appreciate any donation, small or large, as this is how we pay our staff, maintain our facility, and engage in the work of Tikkun Olam - repairing the world.  All donations are tax-deductible as we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  We don’t pass a hat around during our Services as commerce is not allowed on Shabbat or Jewish holidays.  Instead, our members make annual dues commitments and everyone is strongly encouraged to make a donation in honor of someone, in memory of a loved one, in observance of a Yahrtzeit (memorial date), or in the speedy recovery of a relative or friend.  Donations can be given for a specific purpose or for general use.  When a donation is made, a card may be requested to be sent informing them that a donation in his/her name was made to our congregation.
